Psalm 96:7-13

In these verses the psalmist says that all the nations are to worship God in his temple in Jerusalem, foreshadowing the worship of all nations in the heavenly Jerusalem through Jesus and in the church. The psalmist also teaches us that true praise and worship is both reverent and full of joy, and that it is our natural response to who God is and what He has done but that it also involves costly sacrifice and obedience. The Lord denied us nothing, even the life of His precious Son. How can we deny Him our lives? Finally, the psalmist says that the ultimate reason the nations are to praise the Lord is that the Lord reigns, in creation, salvation and judgment.
